Are you a hero?

WALHT: In reading this article I have been learning to combine close reading and inference skills to analyse text to learn more about the qualities of heroes.

Paul Whatuira is a famous rugby league player who used to play for the Vodafone warriors and 6 other teams including the Huddersfield Giants and the Melbourne Storm. He is an hard working competitive sportsman which helped to make him successful and famous. He worked really hard to achieve his goals,when he was a teenager in Wainuiomata Intermediate. His achievement has been an inspiration to the students in his old school. This makes Paul a supportive and inspiring hero.

Paul was a dedicated student who has taken those same attitudes and skills forward to his career as a League player. In visiting his old school, he was a good role model for students and their interest in him. As a sports hero, he showed them how commitment and determination can make a difference.
