George, the hero dog!

WALHT: In reading this article I have been learning to combine close reading and inference skills to analyse text to learn more about the qualities of heroes.

George is the hero of the story he was a small Jack Russell that lived in a small town in Taranaki called Manaia. He was a courageous and fearless dog that put himself in high risk just to protect small boy. The boy was ambushed by 2 pit bull terriers. George guarded the child which caused a really dreadful injury which caused him to be put down. George’s confidence, bravery and courage made George a hero.

  • Helping and had faith in himself that he can protect the child.
    2. What did George do?
  • He saved the children’s life even though it costed his life.
    3. What kind of dog is George?
George the hero dog.

He is brave enough to fight 2 pitbull terriers that was twice the size of him.


He wasn’t scared to fight off the pit bull terriers.



He sacrificed his life to save the kid’s life and didn’t panic when he was defending.
