My skateboarding experience!

Friday was surely an interesting day. It was time to do our weekly Physical Education (P.E) which occurs every Friday and our current subject was skateboarding. Me and my class and room 5L headed to the bottom court. On the way to the bottom court, when the sun’s ray touched my physical body, I immediately knew it was going to be one of those days. The sun was grinning and its searing scorching ray of death burnt my skin and it also made my blood boil from the inside. “Ahh, this is going to be great” I said in my head sarcastically. Once we arrived to the bottom court. We were introduced to our two tutors Aiden and Andy, they were blonde haired professional skaters.

We sat down on concrete as all kids from room 8 and room 5L slowly burnt into Kentucky fried chicken. Both classes were assigned to get our gears, the gear pack included a helmet, knee pads, shoulder pads and a special glove especially made for extreme sports with vehicles. The tutors unfortunately didn’t have enough gear for everyone so Room 5L had to bail and wait for another time preferably after lunch. Thus room 8 took all the gear and learnt how to wear it and the importance of each item. Once we learned the purpose of each gear and learnt how to wear each and every safety gear.

They taught us how to ride a skateboard like radical Tony Hawks! Nah, i’m just kidding we learnt how to ride it the basic way. It was basically like skateboarding 101, we had to place the most comfortable foot on top of the 2 bolts located on the front and back of the skateboard then use the other foot to push yourself and move around. We went back and forth in the court with the knowledge we had, there were crashes here and there. But we got used to it very quickly then we became skateboards fanatics! Well, most of us that is. After a few laps of going back and forth with our skateboard, it was finally time to pack up the gear.

These two coaches showed us how to prepare the gear for the following class. Year 8 and 7s had to merge the hand wrists together, the same rules goes to every gear with the exception for the helmet and knee pads. Once the hand wrists and shoulder pads are merged. Room 8 had to place it on a knee pad and folded it with the merged items, then we placed the fused gear on top of the helmet and closed it.

Technicraft Banana Loaf

In Tech we recently learned how to make banana loaves.  First we had to use a sifter to sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Then we took out 2 eggs, we combined it and beaten it by an egg beater. We then mixed it with milk in another smaller sized bowl. Then we proceeded to mash two bananas and mixed it with the dry ingredients (The sifted flour). We stirred the bananas around then added our liquid ingredients. Once the mixture was nice and merged we added paper inside the bowl that will shape our mixture into a loaf of bread and then we placed our ingredients inside. Then we heated it up the microwave for 9 minutes and placed our finished loaf inside our containers.

Apple Sauce

 Today in Technicraft we learned how to make apple sauce. First you have to chop down your apple to 1/8s out of 6 apples. Then we added small amounts of cold water to the saucepan. Then we proceeded to pour the sliced up apples and four cloves (for flavour) and applied it to the saucepan and placed it on top of a stove. We stirred the element until it boiled and remained the apple until it was ready for the butter and sugar. Once the sauce was completed we removed the sauce from the saucepan then added our exact amount of butter and sugar. Then we mashed the remaining apple until it was soft enough so it can fit the jar.

Technicraft

Today in Technicraft we learned a lot of things about kitchen hygiene and learned the importance of food poisoning and safety. A fridge doesn’t particularly kill germs but stops them from multiplying in numbers. We then made a design brief that involves using jars. We were partnered up to make our delicious food that can fit inside the jar. John and I decided to pick apple sauce. We looked into Edmond’s recipe book and wrote the ingredients and recipe to a piece of refill we received in the beginning of the day. After writing the recipe down, John and I wrote the seemingly appropriate time for each task in the recipe. We then design the decoration of the lid and a logo in the middle of the jar. Then everyone had to write down what they enjoyed and disliked about the design brief.

Pets

Pets are an animal that can accompany people and are loved by their families. Some pets are either adopted or rescued from an organisation. Most pets are not adopted for their cuteness. Most of them can be beneficial and actually help people by protecting them, guiding them, catch pesky intruders and even some cases save people.

Dogs are a common household pet. There are lots of types of dogs categorised by their strength, agility and intelligence. Most dogs are bred depending of their qualities to make them helpful to society or hunting certain animals, they do this by using their brute bite strength, keen sense of smell and their primal instinct which descended from wolves. Some dog are used for military and safety purposes, they can detect explosives and illegal weapons. It is extremely crucial to take care of your dogs, which may cost you a lot of money and can be tiring. Due to excessive cleaning and grooming depending by the dog’s breed, exercising to keep them fit and training them so they can become obedient. But all this exhausting work will be worth it at the end.

Cats, the rival enemy of dogs. Also known as felines. These cute, fluffy and chubby pets are mostly known for their reputation of making viral videos and cute photos in the internet. These felines are more capable than making a popular video and being fat. Cats can hunt pesky rats or mice lurking beneath the floor or in the darkness. All cats land on their feet upon landing which is an essential feature for them because they mostly climb in trees or ascend into tall buildings usually looking for food.

These two common pets are an advantage to humanity in lots of ways.  From being a wonderful companion to being used for military military purposes. Such as locating explosives or pinpoint illegal items during transport. Pets are truly valuable and crucial family members to every houses in the world.
